This week for Mystery Monday, we went up in the mountains and got to do an amazing zip line. We went along six different stretches, and one was almost a mile long. It was so tight. I would do it again in a heart beat. Tuesday was terrific, because Joe White came and blew up our lives. He dressed up as Paul in prison and recited the entire book of Ephesians. It was really encouraging to hear someone that is so in love with the Lord that he wants to memorize His word in its entirety. Wednesday and Thursday Tim Watson, Brian Wang’s brother-in-law, came and spoke to us! He taught: “Equipping the saints for the work of ministry.” The reason for counseling is to serve the glory of God and the good of mankind. There are four pillars of counseling and they are: Rooted in God, Exalts Jesus Christ, Empowering by the Holy Spirit, and Loving. There are also seven essential truths in Biblical counseling. Biblical counsel knows, share, and emphasizes the futility of mankind, power of God, the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Word of God, prays fervently by the Spirit, demonstrated love for one another, and waits on the Lord to work. Thursday afternoon, he gave us a paper that had a heart in the middle and two circles around it. The heart said active heart of worship and the two outer rings were world and body. He told us to write out the things that attribute to our behavior, thinking, and feelings. He taught us to find the root behind the issue. I loved this way of going about it.
